FANC UTV

DATE Fall Semester 2020 / 3rd Year

Collaborated in a team of four to design a UTV, build it in Solidworks, and render it in Keyshot.

My Role

I focused on designing and building the rear of the UTV, including the rear panels, taillights, rear bumper, and rear quarter panels/fenders. I was also tasked with rendering the completed assembly in Keyshot.

The Aesthetic

To achieve a sleek and aggressive look, we designed our UTV with strong, directional angles. To further emphasize this aesthetic, we rendered it with a combination of matte black, glossy black, polished metal, and a blue accent.

The CAD

Using Solidworks, we worked on separate part files and assemblies to build our individual parts of the vehicle and then brought them together in the main assembly. To ensure that we were constrained to the same dimensions, we used a hard point sketch to indicate dimensions within each of our files. We used 3D sketches and surfacing tools to create the components.
